How can I help my child at HOME?

The most important influence on your child’s learning throughout the nursery year is actually what you do together at home. 

1. Talk about Nursery in a positive manner.
2. Talk with your child about each Nursery topic.
3. Encourage your child to talk about their day.
4. Encourage interest in books
5. Share stories together and discuss the pictures.
6. Sing nursery rhymes together.
7. Talk with your child about colours of clothes etc.
8. Take every opportunity to count with your child.
9. Teach your child to put on and take off their coat.
10. Encourage your child to look after their toys and share when opportunities arise.
11. Encourage independent toileting and handwashing
